Paul Mitchell The School Great Lakes will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or the requirement that a covered individual borrow additional funds, on any covered individual because of the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement of funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The school will not automatically renew a covered individual in a course and or program. All enrollment in courses will be discussed and approved by the individual before the enrollment in the course.
The school will accommodate shore absences for such services in the armed forces, we will allow enrolled members of the Armed Forces, including reserve components and National Guard to be readmitted if such members are temporarily unavailable or must suspend enrollment by reason of serving in the Armed Forces.
The school will do a financial planning session prior to enrollment to discuss the availability of federal financial aid, not administered by VA that is offered by the institution. At which time we will alert the individual of the potential eligibility for other federal financial aid before packaging or arranging student loans or alternative financing.
VETERAN’S ATTENDANCE POLICY
Early departures, class cuts, tar dies, etc., for any portion of a class period will be counted as unexcused absence. Students exceeding 20% total absences in a calendar month will be terminated from their VA benefits for unsatisfactory attendance.
In order to show that the cause of unsatisfactory attendance has been removed, students must show good attendance (as defined) for one calendar month after being terminated for unsatisfactory attendance. After such time, the student may be recertified for VA education benefits.
The student’s attendance record will be retained in the veteran’s file for USDVA and SAA audit purposes.
VETERAN’S STANDARD OF ACADEMIC PROGRESS POLICY
Students receiving VA educational benefits must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 75% each month.
A VA student whose CGPA falls below 75% at the end of any month will be placed on academic probation for a maximum of two consecutive months. If the VA student’s CGPA is still below 75% at the end of the second consecutive term of probation, the student’s VA educational benefits will be terminated.
A VA student terminated from VA educational benefits due to unsatisfactory progress may petition the school to be recertified after attaining a CGPA of 75%.
VETERAN’S CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS EDUCATION OR TRAINING
In reference to Title 38 USC 3675 and 3676, and 38 CFR 21.4254, there is a requirement for all institutions to maintain a written record of previous education and training and that this prior credit be evaluated and reported to the VA. This includes the appropriate reduction in the requirements to complete this program.
In accordance with the above stated regulations, all Veterans or eligible dependents who use GI Bill® Benefits for this training are required to bring in documentation of all previous training and education. Veterans are required to submit all prior training transcripts, including military transcripts, to the institution for review.
This institution will review all prior credit, and maintain a record of such training in the students VA file.
Due to the nature of specific and intensive training, before any credit is accepted as transfer, the student must demonstrate their skills to the instructor who will evaluate and recommend the appropriate credit accordingly. All prior credit will be awarded at the discretion of the Program Director after the evaluation of the students’ skills.
All credit granted will be documented, the program shorted proportionally and a record will be given to the student.
The information contained in this addendum and the supporting approval material is true and correct in content and policy as required by 38 CFR 21.4253 (accredited) or 21.4254 (non-accredited). We understand that documents or statements found to be false, fictitious, fraudulent, misleading or misrepresenting the institution, its programs will result in the immediate suspension, withdrawal or denial of approval.

Compliance with VA’s 85/15 Rule
Schools should limit student enrollment to 85% veteran enrollment per cohort. In the event that a veteran wishes to enroll in a program that has already reached the 85% cap, he or she may do that but will not be eligible for VA funding. Chapter 35 and 31 students may still enroll even if the 85% has been realized.
